Entrepreneurial History
The first significant company I created (with partners) was Clean Break of Minnesota. We taught people how to stop smoking. I loved doing this and the program was effective and profound. I also helped initiate four Sylvan Learning Centers in Minneapolis. That was fun and children improved their skills and their confidence. Then I helped create Behavioral Health Partners with Peter Ambrose in St Louis. We grew a wonderful little company under the auspices of BJC HealthCare; serving Medicaid, Medicare and commercial populations under a creative reimbursement system called contact capitation. I created the first iteration of M Goldberg Consulting in 2005 and my client list included Value Options for whom I held a contract VP role in Arizona. That was very interesting, fun and intense. Then I was the CEO as Kansas Health Solutions came into being. Very gratifying experience and a surprising success.
Pre-healthcareI even once started a company called Energy Profiles which analyzed home energy use as well as working for a couple of solar energy companies... but I digress
